This book was amazing. I've been Martin`s pen pal for 8 years and
through all our letters and phone conversations I've only learned more about
him after reading his story. I've been inspired by him to step back and take a
look at my life. It's never to late to make a change. This would be a wonderful
book for anyone with substance abuse problems or anyone just wanting to make a
change. I wasn't a big book reader but I couldn't put this one down. I finished
in less then a day!

authors online. I was intrigued; so I bought it. Once I began reading it, I
could not put it down. It is a great and easy read, well put together and most
importantly; an inspiring story of his life.
If you want to be inspired to live beyond your current
circumstances...regardless of what they are; READ THIS BOOK! If you have a
loved one incarcerated - BUY THEM THIS BOOK! If you want to read about an
inmate who genuinely wants to help others and give back to society, READ THIS
BOOK!
Martin has an incredible outlook on life considering his circumstances and his
past. He has really turned things around for himself. I have never met him; but
one thing I know is HE HAS LEARNED HIS LESSON and now he wants to share his
story in hopes it will inspire and encourage others. It did me!

and journey through his rough life. This book is a great vessel, and gives hope

I felt like I was getting to know my cousin reading his life
story. This is one of the best books I have read and I had a hard time putting
it down. He has come a long way from the kid I knew years ago and I know his
parents would be proud of the man he has become and his accomplishments
considering his circumstances.

What a fascinating story of overcoming life's unfavorable
obstacles! I applaud this author for having the strength and courage to share
his entire life with the world. His brutal honesty and openness of his most
inner being is very real and extremely admiring. Feelings of anger, excitement,
sympathy, sorrow and joy all encompass this man's life story. Palpable Irony is
moving and inspiring and it really allows the reader to walk in the author's
shoes...sharing his guilt, his pain, his life's lessons and his eventual
gratification in the truth of who he really is.
I believe the author's personal goal of becoming a youth counselor would be a
perfect fit for him. With all the knowledge he has gained through educating
himself and learning why he did the things that he did, he would be able to
assist adolescents who are lost and in need of some direction. I think today's
youth would be able to identify with the author and learn how to gain control
of their own lives.
I highly recommend this book, especially to educators, counselors, and anyone
wishing to gain insight into the thought process of young adolescents who
continually wreak havoc or even worse, break the law. The story line ultimately
sums up the fact that education is so very important in our lives and it is
absolutely the key to success!

It touched my heart in so many ways. What an inspiring and encouraging story. I

so many ways. It touched my heart and made me want to be an even better person.

This book is so honest and real. Through tragedy comes much
promise. A real page turner as I could not put it down until I was finished.
